Professional Qualifications & Regulation
Chair of CPME Working Group on Professional Practice: Prof. Dr Frank-Ulrich MONTGOMERY (DE)

Ensuring a clear and safe legal framework to facilitate doctors’ professional practice and mobility across European borders is one of CPME’s primary objectives. EU legislation to this end, in particular the Professional Qualifications Directive 2005/36/EC and the Proportionality Directive 2018/958/EU, must be driven by the objective of safeguarding patient safety and quality of care by creating suitable structures to achieve that medical practice across borders contributes to improving healthcare in Europe.
